Earned Sick Time Act FAQs Updated

March 31, 2025

Don’t miss ESTA compliance info

NFIB continues to assist small businesses in complying with the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) that went into effect on February 21, 2025. NFIB along with other business groups, Speaker Hall and the House and Senate Republicans, were able to make substantial changes to the petition-initiated legislation that the Michigan Supreme Court put in place HERE.

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) Wage and Hour division continues to field questions and update it’s “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ) document on ESTA.

This document has answers to many questions NFIB members have been asking. However, if you have a question about something not covered, please feel free to contact NFIB Michigan State Director Amanda Fisher or you can contact Wage and Hour directly HERE.

Find the MI Wage and Hour FAQs and webinar on ESTA HERE. Find more resources from NFIB HERE.
