Small Businesses Applaud Senate for Raising Arizona’s Personal Property Tax Exemption

February 27, 2025

“Raising the business personal property tax exemption to $500,000 will give Main Street Arizonans more resources to invest in their businesses, create new jobs, and expand employee benefits.”

PHOENIX (Feb. 27, 2025) – Following the Senate’s passage of SB 1069, which would increase the state’s business personal property tax exemption to $500,000, NFIB State Director Chad Heinrich called on the House to provide meaningful tax relief to Arizona’s small business owners.

“While the Legislature has taken great strides to reform our state’s tax code, Arizona’s small business owners still shoulder an inequitable portion of the property tax burden. Raising the business personal property tax exemption to $500,000 will give Main Street Arizonans more resources to invest in their businesses, create new jobs, and expand employee benefits. We thank Sen. J.D. Mesnard for championing this important reform and his colleagues in the Senate who supported it and ask the House to swiftly follow suit.”
