NFIB IL PAC Endorses St. Sen. Darren Bailey for Illinois Governor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(SPRINGFIELD, IL), November 1, 2022—The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Illinois and the nation’s leading small business advocacy association, today announced that its political action committee has endorsed state Sen. Darren Bailey for governor of Illinois.

NFIB IL PAC supports candidates who are committed to making Illinois a better place to do business and raise a family. The governor plays a key role in defending the right of small business owners to open, operate, and grow their own businesses. A governor’s budget, legislative agenda, and regulatory approach are important signals to Main Street, and the stakes are high for small business owners in this election.

“State Senator Darren Bailey is a valued NFIB member with a proven record of supporting small business across Illinois. There is no doubt that he is the candidate that best represents the interests of small business,” said Chris Davis, NFIB Illinois State Director. “Darren Bailey understands that government mandates and high taxes make it even harder for small, family businesses to grow and create jobs. Illinois needs a governor who values small businesses and will make our state competitive and build a strong economy.”

Illinois’ small businesses endured more than a year of government-ordered business restrictions and closures, and now have to operate with record inflation, supply chain disruptions, and worker shortages. Illinois job and economic growth continues to lag behind the national average, despite having all of the assets necessary to be a national leader in economic growth. Due to one-party rule in Springfield, businesses are fleeing, Illinois has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, and growth trails all neighboring states.

Candidate endorsements are determined by the NFIB IL PAC Board, which is comprised of small business owners in the state. Candidates are evaluated based on their responses to key small business issues, as determined by NFIB IL members. NFIB represents over 12,000 small businesses in Illinois. The NFIB IL PAC endorsement is an important signal to voters across the state that a candidate will stand with small business. Learn more about the Power of the Small Business Voice.
