LISTEN: NFIB Radio Ad Urges Sen. Manchin ‘to Keep Fighting Against Inflation’

The West Virginia office of the National Federation of Independent Business has launched a statewide radio ad campaign urging West Virginians to call U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin and urge him to vote against “a massive tax hike on small businesses.”

“We don’t usually buy advertising, but Senator Manchin is under a lot of pressure right now to support President Biden’s Build Back Better Act, legislation that would impose a huge tax increase on small businesses nationwide and reset the clock on Main Street’s economic recovery,” NFIB State Director Gil White said. “West Virginians need to send a clear message to Senator Manchin telling him to stand strong and oppose this massing tax increase that would make things worse for West Virginia, not better.”

Here is a transcript of the radio ad:

“Inflation is the highest in 40 years, and it’s costing West Virginia families over $5,000 a year. Sen. Joe Manchin is courageously speaking out about this grave threat to our economy. Here’s Senator Manchin: ‘I’ve been ringing the alarm bell forever, I mean, for the last year about inflation. Nobody’s been listening. Now we’re seeing a basic threat. It’s a 7½ percent on everybody, on every product you buy.’ Inflation is even higher today than when Senator Manchin issued his warning, but some in Washington want to pass another huge spending bill and a massive tax hike on small businesses. Their tax-and-spend agenda will make the inflation crisis worse for small businesses and could throw our economy into a deep and painful recession. Call Senator Manchin at 304-342-5855. That’s 304-342-5855. Tell him to keep fighting against inflation. Paid for by NFIB.
