The Guardian of Small Business award, one of NFIB’s most coveted and prestigious honors, is given to legislators to recognize their efforts to support small business issues.
NFIB Texas Recognizes Rep. Meyer as a ‘Guardian of Small Business’
Representative Morgan Meyer — (R-Dallas)
First elected in 2014, Rep. Meyer serves as Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee and Chair of the Select Committee for Sustainable Property Tax Relief. Throughout his time in the House of Representatives, Rep. Meyer has led the charge to lower property taxes and provided hundreds of millions in property tax relief each year. He was the House author behind the tax relief package that passed in the 2nd special session that NFIB supported, specifically SB 2 relating to property tax relief for all property owners. His efforts in the 2023 legislative session earned him a 100% on the NFIB Texas voting record.
Background:
In August, NFIB Texas released a list of 66 lawmakers who earned 100 percent NFIB voting records during the 88th Legislative Session. NFIB’s 2023 Voting Record included seven key votes on regulatory relief, tax relief, property owners’ rights, judicial reform, and workforce development.
