Virginia’s PAC endorsed 18 candidates for state Senate and 46 candidates for the House of Delegates.

NFIB Virginia PAC Endorses 64 Pro-Small Business Candidates in 2023 State Legislative Races

The NFIB Virginia PAC proudly announces its list of candidates receiving endorsements for November’s election to the state legislature. The 64 endorsed candidates have all demonstrated support for small business issues and pledged to listen and advocate for small business issues. Virginia’s political action committee is made up of NFIB members throughout Virginia. Virginia’s PAC endorsed 18 candidates for state Senate and 46 candidates for the House of Delegates. “NFIB small business owners support candidates who understand the challenges and issues they face every day running their business,” said Julia Hammond, NFIB State Director in Virginia. “Since the pandemic, it’s become more and more challenging to own and operate a successful small business in the Commonwealth. From inflation and supply chain issues to continued problems hiring employees for open positions, many remain frustrated with the economic condition of the state and recently, slow pace of the state legislature to pass a budget. NFIB’s latest Small Business Optimism Index, which measures small business economic trends, decreased again in August, the 20^th consecutive month small business owners have reported concern about the economy’s future. The survey, out this week, found an increase in the number of small businesses reporting inflation as their biggest problem (23%) and the percentage of owners who raised their prices (27%). “Today’s endorsements from our Virginia PAC are awarded to candidates who stand up for small business issues, from cutting taxes to give small business owners additional money to invest and grow their business to passing legislation that would help owners desperate to hire workers for open positions.” Candidates are evaluated based on their responses and positions on key small business issues as determined by NFIB Virginia members who look for candidates that demonstrate an understanding of small business issues. The PAC’s endorsement is critical to candidates’ campaigns because small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for urging friends, family members, and acquaintances to do the same.
