Join NFIB, the ​PA Society of Tax and Accounting Professionals, and the PA Society of Enrolled Agents for exclusive access to the Commonwealth’s financial leaders ahead of the 2024 budget address! This year’s Annual Economic Forum will feature discussion on current economic conditions and a look at the year ahead. You will learn how Governor Shapiro’s 2024 proposed budget will impact businesses and get all your questions answered directly from the experts. Time to network and breakfast will be provided prior to the program. Please arrive at 9:30 to speak with fellow small business owners! The program will begin promptly at 10:00 AM. GUEST SPEAKERS Stacy Garrity | Pennsylvania Treasurer Businesswoman and retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel Stacy Garrity has served at the 78th Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since January of 2021. After graduating from Sayre High School in Bradford County, Stacy earned a degree in finance and economics from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and later received a certificate from the Cornell University Business Management Institute. Stacy served a remarkable three deployments in defense of the United States: in 1991 in Operation Desert Storm, in 2003 in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and in 2008 in Operation Enduring Freedom. She was awarded the Bronze Star twice for exceptional service and received the Legion of Merit before retiring from the Army Reserve with the rank of colonel. While serving in the Army Reserve, Stacy started work as a cost accountant at Global Tungsten & Powders Corp. and worked her way up to become the first of two female vice presidents at the company. As Pennsylvania Treasurer, Stacy oversees an office of more than 300 employees and is tasked with protecting more than $150 billion in state assets.

Representative Seth Grove | Minority Chair, House Appropriations Committee Representative Grove has served the 196th District since 2008, and has consistently advocated for streamlined, more efficient government and commonsense-conservative principles. He is a leading voice in Harrisburg on fiscal issues, entitlement reform, education reform and funding, cybersecurity, career and technical education, reducing the size and scope of state government, tax policy, property taxes, economic growth, community pharmacy issues and pensions – both state and municipal.

Matthew Knittel | Director, Independent Fiscal Office Formerly employed as a financial economist by the US Department of Treasury and an economist by the Michigan Department of Treasury, Mr. Knittel holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Mr. Knittel has taught courses at Johns Hopkins, Temple, and Penn State Universities and published several articles in the National Tax Journal, the NBER and US Treasury’s Office of Tax Analysis working paper series.
