2023 Illinois Legislative Victories

Unemployment Insurance Debt Fully Funded NFIB secured the full $4.5 billion Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund debt from State of Illinois, saving employers billions in increased taxes over the next decade.   Paid Family Leave Despite the passage of 5-days of paid leave for all workers, for any reason, NFIB convinced legislators not to advance a $1 billion paid family and medical leave program funded by payroll taxes.   Dramatic Whistleblower Act Expansion NFIB convinced legislators to withhold action on Legislation to provide expansive protections to undocumented workers over and above those protections provided under current law for all workers.
