Wednesday's event drew elected leaders and small business owners from throughout the state
WATCH: Husted, Legislative Leaders Speak at Small Business Day
Husted talked to attendees about the vital role Ohio plays in the nation’s economy. Huffman, meanwhile, briefed NFIB members about the state budget. In his remarks, House Speaker Jason Stephens said the House version of the fiscal 2023-24 spending plan is a “fiscally responsible” and addresses economic growth. In addition to the in-person speakers, U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance appeared via video. NFIB State Director Chris Ferruso also presented state Sen. Bill Reineke and Rep. Bill Roemer with Guardian of Small Business Awards in appreciation of their advocacy of small businesses in the legislature. Ferruso said, “Small Business Day gives our members and guests a chance to hear directly from our elected leaders on the issues affecting their businesses, and it gives them a chance to connect one-on-one with their senators and representatives.”?
