Unicoi Entrepreneur Renea Jones Joins NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council

NFIB, the state’s leading small business association, said today that Renea Jones, co-owner of Jones & Church Farms in Unicoi, has been appointed to the NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council. The 27-member Leadership Council is an advisory board that assists the association in developing strategies to support small businesses throughout the state. NFIB surveys its 7,000 members in Tennessee and 300,000 nationally regularly to determine the organization’s positions, while the Leadership Council helps with reviewing new proposals and ongoing advocacy. Jones & Church Farms, a fourth-generation family farm that grows 600 acres of fresh market tomatoes, has been an NFIB member business since 2004. Jones, who earned a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and a master’s degree in crop science from North Carolina State University, currently serves as president of the Unicoi County Farm Bureau and sits on the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Issue Advisory Committee. She also served 12 years on the Unicoi County Board of Education. “Renea brings a wealth of knowledge and advocacy experience to the NFIB Leadership Council,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “We’re glad to welcome her aboard and know she will be a strong advocate for small businesses in East Tennessee and across the state.” Jones said, “I look forward to the opportunity to work with such a diverse group of statewide small business leaders while sharing our successes and challenges on the farm with state and federal elected officials.”
