Small Business Owners Testify in Support of Texas Regulatory Consistency Act

Several small business owners and NFIB members testified in support of the Texas Regulatory Consistency Act (HB 2127) which would limit the scope of regulations on small businesses to state and federal law. Ahead of their testimony, NFIB State Director Annie Spilman described how this regulatory relief would benefit small business owners across the state:
“Right now, Texas small business owners must navigate a patchwork system of regulations. What’s on the books in Houston differs from what’s on the books in Dallas. These discrepancies make it harder for our local job creators to do business in the Lone Star State. Our small business owners face all sorts of economic headwinds. This bill can’t wait until next session. Time is of the essence. We hope the Legislature will act to give small businesses greater certainty in the regulatory landscape.”
