ICYMI: Rep. Lloyd Smucker Hosts Small Business Tax Roundtable in York County
NFIB members Marci Bittner & Wendy Bittner, owners of LOSHAW Thermal Technology, LLC. in Spring Grove participated in the roundtable event
“We are thrilled that small business owners had an opportunity to share their story directly to Rep. Smucker,” said Melissa Morgan, NFIB Pennsylvania Assistant State Director. “The Small Business Deduction has allowed small business owners to further invest in their business, their employees, and their community. It is crucial that Congress passes the Main Street Tax Certainty Act and make the deduction permanent.”
The 20% Small Business Deduction (Section 199A) allows small businesses organized as pass-throughs (S corporations, LLCs, sole proprietorships, or partnerships) the ability to deduct up to 20% of qualified business income and is scheduled to expire in 2025.
“Having a seat at the table with Congressman Smucker was a great experience for us as small business owners,” said Marci Bittner. “Taxes are always a complex issue for small businesses, so it was helpful that we could tell Rep. Smucker exactly how federal taxes impact our day-to-day business operations.”
