NFIB Releases Voting Records on Nevada Legislators

CARSON CITY, Nev., Aug. 21, 2024—Just ahead of this year’s election season, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Nevada today released the voting records of state lawmakers that its political action committee (NFIB NV PAC) will base its endorsements on.

“We are one of the few business groups that goes to such an extent to issue endorsements based on actual votes on specific bills that affect our members,” said Tray Abney, NFIB’s Nevada state director. “Small businesses are not smaller versions of big businesses, and we need not only elected officials who understand that but also act on that when it comes times to vote.”

Both the Nevada Assembly and Nevada Senate were graded on seven issues in common that came from or into their chambers during the last session of the Legislature (2023); Senators were graded on an eighth. A brief description of the issues, NFIB’s positions on them, the outcome, and how each of 21 senators and 42 assembly members voted on them can be read here.

To earn NFIB’s endorsement, lawmakers had to have at least a 70% pro-small-business voting record, which nine senators and 27 assembly members tallied. Two senators (Carrie Buck and Lisa Krasner) and four assembly members (Jill Dickman, Danielle Gallant, Richard McArthur, Phillip O’Neill) had perfect, 100% pro-small-business voting scores.

Non-incumbent candidates seeking NFIB NV PAC’s endorsement will be provided with a questionnaire.
