NFIB will be there to advocate on behalf of our small busines members

The 114th General Assembly will gavel into session at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Small business is the backbone of Tennessee’s economy, and we’ll be there to ensure our members’ voices are heard.

This legislative session, our priorities will include:

  • Tax Reform: Continuing work to put a constitutional amendment measure onto the 2026 ballot that would ban a statewide property tax, which is still on Tennessee’s books.
  • Workforce Development: Supporting initiatives to train and retain skilled workers, addressing the labor shortages that many businesses face.
  • Labor & Regulatory Reform: Pushing for commonsense laws and regulations that provide consistency statewide and balance oversight with the flexibility small businesses need to operate effectively.

We’re ready to work closely with legislative leaders and Governor Lee to pass legislation that allows our members to grow and create jobs.

Let us know what issues matter most to you. Visit www.NFIB.com/VoteMyBallot and complete this year’s member ballot or contact NFIB State Jim Brown directly at jim.brown@NFIB.org.

By working together, we can ensure Tennessee remains a great place to start and grow a small business.
