Shop Small During Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday

Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will run for two weeks, beginning today and continuing until August 11. This is another opportunity in addition to the Freedom Summer Sales Tax Holiday to shop small and support Florida’s Main Street.

“This year’s back-to-school sales tax holiday is a chance to support our local small businesses,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive Director. “Following the rent tax reduction in June, small business owners and customers are able to save money and invest in their communities and local economy. Preparing for the upcoming school year is a great occasion to shop small and help strengthen Florida’s economy directly.”

During the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, shoppers can save on school supplies, learning aids, clothing and footwear, personal computers, and more.

The last tax holiday for 2024 approved by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis is the “Tool Time” sales tax holiday from Sept. 2 – Sept. 8, 2024.
