Howell chairs the House Transportation Committee and is vice chair of the Fiscal Review Committee

The Tennessee office of NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, recently presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to state Rep. Dan Howell (District 22, which includes Meigs and Polk counties and part of Bradley County).
“Dan Howell is a tremendous supporter of small business in the Tennessee State House,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “Representative Howell has voted for meaningful tax, labor, tort and regulatory reforms that have helped small businesses in his district and across the state grow their businesses, create jobs and help their communities. His 100 percent NFIB Voting Record the last three years demonstrates his unwavering support for small business.”
The presentation was made last week at Ruby Falls, an NFIB member. Connie Vaughan with NFIB member McKee Foods presented the award to Howell. The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Howell for his outstanding leadership on small business issues.
Howell said, “I’m very honored to be recognized with the NFIB Guardian of Small Business award. I’ve always made supporting small businesses a priority of mine in Nashville and will continue to do so. When small businesses thrive, we all thrive.”
Howell chairs the House Transportation Committee, is Vice Chair of the Fiscal Review Committee and a member of the House State & Local Govt Committee.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
