June 30, 2025

Member activist Hall attended NFIB’s annual Washington, D.C., Fly-In to advocate for the Federal Small Business Deduction

The 64th episode of the “Small Business Rundown” podcast has been released, and this edition includes a Maine NFIB member who was attending NFIB’s annual Fly-In event in Washington, D.C.

On this podcast, two NFIB members explain why they took time away from their business to come to Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers.

Small business owner Shad Hall of Maine discusses what may happen if the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction expires at the end of the year and the need to repeal unconstitutional and invasive beneficial ownership reporting requirements.

“[I]t’s helped us maintain affordable health insurance, wage increases, and consistent 401K contributions despite rising costs,” noted Hall.

Jeff Brabant, NFIB’s Vice President of Federal Government Relations, also weighs in with insights on how Congress may vote on these important issues.
