Main Street Matters Tour Kicks Off

May 18, 2026

Join the next stop on the tour on May 28 in Whitinsville.

Four Main Street Matters Tour meetings have now been held in Lynnfield, Sandwich, Mansfield, and Fitchburg. These events are an opportunity for lawmakers, employers, and media to learn about the big issues impacting Main Street businesses. NFIB is partnering with the Retailers Association of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and local chambers of commerce to host a series of statewide meetings.

To date, Representatives Sally Kerans, Steven Xiarhos, Thomas Moakey, David Vieira, and Michael Chaisson, along with Fitchburg Mayor Samantha Squailia all attended to learn more about small business concerns.

Topics included:

  • Rising health insurance premiums
  • The high cost of energy
  • Credit card swipe fees
  • The broken UI system
