Be Prepared: What You Need to Know for Tropical Storm Helene

As of Tuesday, Sept. 24, there are  Tropical Storm Watches for 18 Florida counties, Hurricane Watches in effect for 18 Florida counties, and Storm Surge Watches extending from the Southwest Florida Coast to the central Florida Panhandle Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 60 Florida counties ahead of Tropical Cyclone Nine making landfall. Tropical Cyclone Nine, which is expected to become Hurricane Helene, could bring serious damage and small business owners should be prepared. Gov. DeSantis declared a state of emergency for the following counties: Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay,  Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Dixie, Duval, Escambia, Flagler, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Glades, Gulf, Hamilton, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Manatee, Marion, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, Volusia, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties.
