Efstration Earns NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award

Date: April 20, 2018

NFIB, Georgia’s leading small business association, has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to state Rep. Chuck Efstration.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB Georgia Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Efstration for supporting small-business issues in the Legislature.

Representative Efstration has been a steadfast ally of small business since entering the General Assembly in 2013, NFIB State Director Nathan Humphrey said.

“In this year’s session, Representative Efstration sponsored two bills that are going to make a big impact on the state’s small businesses,” Humphrey said.

House Bill 918 doubles the standard deduction for Georgia taxpayers and reduces the income tax rate for individuals and businesses from 6 percent now to 5.75 percent in 2019 and 5.5 percent in 2020. House Resolution 993 would amend the state constitution to implement a business court with statewide jurisdiction. The proposed amendment will go before voters in November.

“Representative Efstration understands the needs of Georgia’s small, family-owned businesses and the necessity of reducing the government’s role in their lives and the importance that business plays in creating jobs,” Humphrey said.

“On behalf of all small businesses in Georgia, NFIB would like to thank Representative Efstration for his hard work and dedication to our state’s entrepreneurs,” Humphrey said. “It’s my honor to present him with our Guardian of Small Business Award.”
