Mandatory Retirement Contribution Legislation Failed to Pass

Date: April 15, 2015

HB 421 / SB 312 would have required employers with five or more employees to participate in a state-run retirement program or provide a retirement program and would affect almost every business owner and employee in Maryland. During the 2014 session NFIB opposed this this legislation, which you can read more about here. We expect this legislation to reappear in 2016.
