Washington, D.C. (May 6, 2019) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement on behalf of President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan marking Small Business Week:
“National Small Business Week is a powerful reminder of the role small businesses play in powering the economy. Small businesses account for nearly half of the U.S. economy and almost half of GDP. Their influence on the economy is felt in every community across the country. As we mark these contributions, it is important to remember that for small business owners, there is no day off, and they must overcome challenges continuously. Fortunately, a great deal of progress has been made recently, in the form of regulatory reform and much-needed tax relief. NFIB is proud to represent small businesses exclusively and we’ll continue to advocate for the real engine of the economy.”
