Administration Report Calls for Small Business Deduction Permanence, NFIB Urges Congress to Act

Date: March 22, 2019

Washington, D.C. (March 22, 2019) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement on behalf of President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan regarding the White House Council of Economic Advisers’ report that called for making provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs act permanent, including the Small Business Deduction (199A).

“The Small Business Deduction, included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, is greatly benefitting small businesses and the whole economy. The deduction that has contributed to record small business growth is not permanent, though, and it should be. We’re pleased the Administration agrees, as evidenced by the most recent Council of Economic Advisers’ report, and we urge Congress to pass the bipartisan bill, H.R. 216, that would make the Small Business Deduction permanent.”
