Washington, D.C. (Dec. 11, 2018)— NFIB issued the following statement on behalf of Karen Harned, NFIB’s Small Business Legal Center Executive Director in response to the administration’s proposed Waters of the United States rule:
“This proposed rule is a positive first step in ending years of burdensome federal overreach that has caused uncertainty for millions of small and independent businesses across the country. Whether it is a farmer at risk of losing their land’s value or a construction company seeking to move forward with a project, the proposed changes would provide small businesses with certainty as they navigate jurisdictional issues. We’re pleased with today’s proposed rule and look forward to participating during the public comment phase of this rulemaking on behalf of our nation’s small businesses.”
