NFIB Statement from President & CEO Juanita D. Duggan on American Workforce Policy Advisory Board Meeting on Workforce Development

Date: June 18, 2019

Washington, D.C. (June 18, 2019)—NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement on behalf of President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan following the White House American Workforce Policy Advisory Board meeting today in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Workforce development and hiring new workers are two challenges that I continue to hear about regularly from small business owners across the country in today’s strong economy. Small businesses represent nearly half of U.S. workers and almost half of our country’s GDP, so the work we are doing and the discussions we are having on the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board are so important. I’m encouraged by today’s meeting, and I look forward to continuing to contribute recommendations to help the Board on behalf of the small business community. Thank you to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Liddell, Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump, United States Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, and the city of Charlotte, North Carolina for making today’s meeting possible and bringing these important issues forward.”
