NFIB Named Top-Performing Association Generating Results on Capitol Hill

Date: October 15, 2019

Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2019) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, was named the top-performing association for achieving policy goals in three categories: coalition building, grassroots efforts, and being an industry reputation steward in APCO Worldwide’s recently released 2019 TradeMarks study. APCO Worldwide surveyed leaders across the U.S. government and private sector about what trade associations were most proficient in generating the results they set out to achieve for their members.

“It’s an honor to receive APCO Worldwide’s distinction, which recognizes NFIB’s work on the federal and state levels and our commitment to serving our members,” said Brad Close, NFIB’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy. “NFIB works hard to make sure that our members’ voices are heard by the right decisionmakers. We’re honored to be the voice of small business for 76 years, and we are proud that the work of our advocacy and grassroots teams in all 50 state capitols has been recognized by those we work with day in and day out.”

Under NFIB’s President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan, NFIB placed a priority on strengthening its grassroots mobilization over the last few years. In addition to bolstering NFIB’s grassroots presence in all 50 states, NFIB launched a new grassroots mobile application called Engage. This application allows for more streamlined member communications and enables NFIB’s members to take action on key policy issues in real-time.

As noted in O’Dwyer’s, NFIB is the only “non-tech or healthcare group to appear on the list.” APCO’s TradeMarks study is in its sixth year. According to O’Dwyer’s, APCO surveyed “321 Washington policy leaders, which included congressional staff, executive branch officials and private sector executives.”
