Small Business Disappointed by Senate's Failure on Healthcare Reform

Date: July 28, 2017

Senate gridlock leaves in place the crushing Obamacare taxes and mandates, says National Federation of Independent Business

Washington, D.C. (July 28, 2017) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today issued the following statement on behalf of President and CEO Juanita Duggan in response to the Senate’s failure to repeal Obamacare:

“We are very disappointed by the Senate’s inability to repeal Obamacare. The skyrocketing cost of healthcare was made worse by Obamacare and now, after seven years of promises to repeal it, small businesses will continue to endure Obamacare’s crushing taxes and mandates. Small business owners voted for candidates who promised to repeal Obamacare.”

“As Washington shifts its attention to tax reform, small business will be watching. Congress cannot fail again on this key small business priority ― they must ensure small businesses are the central focus of tax reform.”
