Washington, DC (September 8, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading advocate for small business owners, today endorsed Delegate Kathy Szeliga for Senate at a campaign event in Baltimore.

“Delegate Kathy Szeliga has been a great friend to small business in Maryland and deserves to represent the state in the U.S. Senate,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “As the owner of a small business, she knows the challenges posed by the federal government. During her time in the Maryland General Assembly, Szeliga had a perfect voting record with NFIB. We know that she will work for lower taxes and less burdensome rules and regulations.”

“Having seen her dedication and tireless efforts on behalf of Maryland small business in the state legislature, we are thrilled to offer our endorsement,” said NFIB/Maryland State Director Mike O’Halloran, “She will provide a much needed voice of reason in the U.S. Senate.”

The endorsement today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee.  Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities.
