Washington,
DC (February 23, 2016) – The National
Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading
representative of small business owners, is endorsing Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX)
for reelection. Sessions has a strong record of supporting legislation that
would help small businesses grow and thrive and should be returned to the U.S.
House.
“Congressman
Sessions is a strong voice for small business in the U.S. House,” said NFIB/Texas Executive Director Will Newton.
“As Rules Committee Chairman, he helped guide legislation to make small
business expensing permanent. This will be a huge boon to business investment
in Texas. He knows that our state’s small businesses are critical to jobs and
the economy and that they need to be free if we want to see them grow and
thrive.”
“Throughout
my time in Congress I have fought against big-government regulations and worked
to create more opportunities for small businesses in Texas and across the
nation,” said Sessions. “I am honored to receive the National Federation of
Independent Business’ endorsement and I look forward to redoubling my efforts
to ensure small businesses have the opportunities they need to
continue to strengthen our communities and bolster our economy.”
Sessions
qualified for an endorsement from the NFIB by achieving a 100 percent positive
rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The list of scored votes is
available here.
Sessions’ endorsement
today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action
committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are
influential in their communities.
