ALBANY, N.Y. (July 21, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today endorsed Andrew Garbarino for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent New York’s 2nd Congressional District.
“The small businesses of our nation, the Empire State, and Long Island continue to navigate truly unprecedented challenges that have fundamentally altered local commerce across every community,” said Greg Biryla, NFIB’s New York State Director. “South Shore small businesses need a representative in Congress who understands these challenges and will fight for an economic resurgence on “Main Street” rather than Wall Street. During his time in the State Assembly, Andrew Garbarino was a leader in fighting against higher taxes, new mandates, and punitive regulations and will do the same in Washington.”
Andrew Garbarino comes from a small business family and is a member of the New York State Assembly. He was first elected to the State Assembly in 2012 and has earned an average 89% NFIB voting record in New York.
“Having grown up in a family centered around small businesses, Andrew Garbarino has a deep understanding of the challenges they face each and every day,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “We are confident that his experience, combined with a record of standing up for small businesses in the New York State Assembly, will make Andrew Garbarino a strong advocate for small businesses in Congress.”
Andrew Garbarino’s endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in New York will work hard to elect Andrew Garbarino to Congress.
