(May 6, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Mike Garcia today for election to the United States House of Representatives. The special election to fill California’s 25th Congressional District seat will be held on May 12.
“Californians need pro-small business leaders in Congress, especially during these difficult times,” said John Kabateck, NFIB’s California State Director. “Mike Garcia is committed to standing up for what California’s small businesses care about, like deregulation and making the Small Business Deduction and tax relief permanent. Mike Garcia is a highly decorated United States Naval Officer, accruing over 1,400 hours of operational flight time after nearly 20 years of military service to the country. Garcia is a small business owner and during his ten-year tenure at Raytheon, he helped create hundreds of jobs.
“This is a challenging period for small businesses across our country,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “The last few months have brought a sudden and dramatic downturn of our nation’s economy, and we need strong small business advocates in Congress now more than ever. Garcia’s endorsement comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process.
