NFIB CA PAC Launches “Stop Taxing Vehicles” Campaign Urging Californians to Vote Yes on Prop 6

SACRAMENTO, Calif., October 17, 2018 – Today, the National Federation of Independent Business California Political Action Committee (NFIB CA PAC) and small business owners in California hit the airwaves and Internet urging voters to head to the ballot box on Election Day to vote yes on Proposition 6 to repeal the recent gas and vehicle tax increases.

The “Stop Taxing Vehicles” campaign features video testimonials from a variety of NFIB small business owners across California explaining how gas and vehicle taxes are hurting working families and costing their small businesses thousands of dollars per year. NFIB CA PAC also launched a series of radio and digital ads, which will run across California through Election Day. Click here to listen to the radio ad.

“The gas and vehicle tax hikes are hurting small businesses and working families the hardest – to the tune of nearly $800 dollars for the typical California family – and they are only going to go up unless we all do something about it,” said NFIB CA PAC Chair Sunder Ramani. “Politicians in Sacramento need to stop piling on new taxes that disproportionately impact small businesses, and it’s up to us to make it happen. On Election Day, please vote yes on Prop 6 to repeal the gas and car tax hikes before more businesses and jobs flee the state.”

The recently imposed gas and vehicle tax increases under Senate Bill 1 raised the state excise tax on gas by $0.12, the excise tax on diesel fuel by $.20, and new vehicle registration fees range from $25 to $175 depending on the market value of your vehicle.

Visit StopTaxingVehicles.com to view how gas prices have increased under the recently imposed taxes and will continue to rise unless Californians vote YES on Prop 6.
