Montgomery,
AL (February 19, 2016) – The National
Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading
representative of small business owners, is endorsing Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL)
for reelection. Roby has a strong record of standing up for small business in
the U.S. House and should continue representing the Second District of Alabama.
“Congresswoman
Roby is a strong voice for small business in Washington,” said NFIB/Alabama State Director Rosemary
Elebash. “Through her service on the House Appropriations Committee, she
has worked to stop Obama administration rules and regulations that threaten our
state’s small businesses. We’re especially grateful for what she has done for
veteran owned businesses. She knows that small business owners need to be free
of red tape in order for them to grow our economy and create good jobs.”
“I
am honored to have the support of the NFIB,” said Roby. “Since I was elected to
Congress, I’ve had dozens of roundtable meetings with NFIB members in which I
was able to listen directly to independent business owners about the challenges
they are facing. Homegrown Alabama businesses are the heart of our economy, and
I’m proud to fight on their behalf in Congress.”
Roby
qualified for an endorsement from the NFIB by achieving a 100 percent positive
rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The list of scored votes is
available here.
“Small
business owners are engaged in elections and vote for legislators who help them
succeed,” said Elebash. “I am certain that NFIB members will work hard to make
sure Congresswoman Roby is back in the House next year.”
Roby’s endorsement
today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action
committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are
influential in their communities.
