The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) has opened its registration for a program beneficial to small employers across Ohio. The Policy Activity Rebate (PAR) plan will provide employers a chance to earn a 50 percent premium rebate up to $2,000.

To earn a rebate, employers must complete 11 activity credits during their enrolled policy year. The list of 33 possible activities covers a range of topics on safety, claims and policy management. Examples of activities include:

  • Completing online classes on the BWC’s website
  • Conducting drug/alcohol testing
  • Creating an accident analysis/reporting policy
  • Returning an employee to light/modified duty

View the full list of activities that, when completed, earn PAR credits here. With activities earning up to two credits each, PAR will give small employers more control, as well as a flexible, customizable way to improve workplace safety while saving money!

Employers can sign up for activities and begin earning credits on July 1, 2018. The BWC will accept applications from public employers on December 1, 2018, and private employers on January 31, 2019.
