Workers' Compensation Safety Webinars: Winter Opportunities

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) requires group rating and group retrospective rating program participants to complete two hours of safety training if they experienced any workers’ compensation claim between July 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018.  

If you have multiple policy numbers with separate claims, the BWC requires a separate two-hour training or a separate attendee representing each policy number if attending one two-hour training session. Training must be completed during the 2019 rate year, between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020.

NFIB and CareWorks are offering webinars, seminars, and safety classes to assist you in fulfilling the BWC two-hour training requirement.   

The BWC’s Division of Safety and Hygiene also offers classes and online courses. Additional information may be viewed at https://www.bwc.ohio.gov/employer/programs/safety/SandHEducation.asp.

If you attend a course offered by CareWorks Comp your attendance will automatically be recorded.  If you choose to complete the two-hour training through another source, proof of completion (with your BWC policy number) must be submitted to CareWorks Comp via e-mail to [email protected] or fax to (614) 932-1507 in order to satisfy the requirement.
