Modernization Project Update

Gateway Modernization Project Update

The Gateway Modernization Project has gotten off to a great start in the new year. We have completed the Design/Build portion of the project and are well into Testing. In fact, we are now busy preparing for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), where Service Partners and business users will be asked to test the functionality of the modernized Gateway.

We also have redesigned the way business users check out and pay for transactions in the modernized Gateway. Scroll down for more information and a video demonstration of the changes made to the checkout and payment process.

IMPROVED CHECKOUT & PAYMENT PROCESSES

The way business users pay for and check out transactions on the Gateway has totally changed. In the modernized Gateway, notifications will now guide business users through the checkout process. Red notifications on the Business Dashboard will display the number of transactions that are ready for checkout and have been added to the cart. Also, business users will no longer have to “check out” transactions that do not require payment in order to file them.

These improvements, aimed at streamlining the checkout process and making it much more intuitive, are a direct result of feedback that was gathered from business users throughout the course of the Gateway Modernization Project.

Watch the video above for a look at how the new checkout functionality will work.

OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal

Ohio businesses report a lack of professional or “soft” skills as a barrier to hiring talented workers. To help address this challenge, the State of Ohio surveyed business leaders to identify which professional skills are in highest demand among employers.

Beginning with the class of 2018, high school students who demonstrate the top 15 professional skills, validated by three or more mentors, will be eligible to earn the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal on their transcripts and diplomas.

Graduates who earn the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal are competitive; they are prepared to contribute value to your business by demonstrating the strong work ethic, experience, and professional skills required for success in the workplace.
