“Entrepreneurs across Ohio continue to name the ability to find qualified workers to hire as a top priority,” said Roger Geiger, vice president and executive director of NFIB in Ohio.
“NFIB’s national Small Business Optimum Index demonstrates our members desire to grow and feel they could increase sales if they could find additional employees who would enable them to produce even more. Recent surveys of NFIB members rate the lack of a qualified workforce as their number one obstacle to growth.
“By Governor DeWine appointing Lt. Governor Husted as the director of the Ohio Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, it emphasizes the need for Ohio to address the skills and talent gap preventing the state’s economy from growing at an even more rapid pace,” he continued.
“Lt. Governor Husted has demonstrated a strong, long-standing commitment to Ohio’s business community. He has visited with and heard from numerous business owners throughout the state. He has an excellent understanding of how state government can work with entrepreneurs to develop a plan to improve our workforce and put more Ohioans to work in good-paying jobs,” Geiger concluded.
