Moore’s Communications, Inc. is a nationally operating telephone, data, and security services company. Operating in Dover, Ohio, they have been members of NFIB since 2001.
In 2011 Larry Howard and his aunt purchased the company from his grandmother, who took over after the original owner, Larry’s Grandfather who had passed away. Moore’s Communication company primarily serves the hospitality industry, working closely with industry leaders like Hilton, Marriott, and Starwood. They are a full-service company providing equipment purchases, install service, and equipment monitoring. In addition, they work with a number of large security systems nationally, and smaller systems locally.
Although Moore’s only has only seven employees, one of them being Larry’s daughter, they are ready and primed for growth. They have experienced a 40% increase in sales, have been consistently picking up more hotels over the past year and are continually booked six months in advance for installation and construction. They pride themselves on providing constant customer contact, consumer trust, and family-owned hometown feel on a national level. Additionally, they operate within a total of 39 states, subcontracting out to other businesses some of their work.
The founder of Moore’s Communication Inc, Howard’s grandfather originally joined NFIB when their office was in Grandview Heights, but Larry has found NFIB and their member benefits programs to be incredibly helpful. In particular, they appreciate and benefit from the Careworks program and the additional help with workers compensation worries.
For Larry Howard and his team, the reward of helping other people is the best part of his business. They have served large national contracts and small independent local contracts, but the reward of interacting with and helping other people has always been their favorite part of the small business experience.
