Officers Elected to Statewide Leadership Council for Ohio

Date: February 12, 2019

NFIB, the state’s leading small business association in Ohio, announces the election of new officers to its statewide Leadership Council.  The officers include:

  • Chris Ellis of Helping Hands Healthcare, Inc. (Cincinnati) chairman;
  • Albert Macre of Albert F, Macre & Company (Steubenville) vice chair;
  • Kelly Moore of GKM Auto Parts (Zanesville) chair of the NFIB Ohio PAC, the organization’s political action committee, and;
  • Ty Baker-Baumann of REBSCO, Inc. (Greenville) the immediate past chair of the Council.

The council, which holds quarterly meetings that serve to guide the organization’s statewide activities, currently has 35 members in total. The NFIB Leadership Council is made up of independent business owners from Ohio. The role of the council is to help steer the organization’s advocacy program while assisting in efforts to bring small-business issues to the attention of state and federal elected officials.

The members serving on the Leadership Council represent businesses of varying sizes and geographic areas of the state of Ohio. As a truly member-driven organization, the 35 members of the Leadership Council participate in committees, assist in the implementation of NFIB events across the state, as well as serving on statewide boards and commissions, and in their local governments.

Outgoing chair Ty Baker-Baumann (Greenville, Ohio) is recognized by Executive Director Roger Geiger & incoming chair Chris Ellis (Cincinnati).

“I am honored to be elected by a group of my fellow entrepreneurs to chair the Leadership Council for NFIB in Ohio. As a member for almost 20 years, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand how powerful an association NFIB is at both the state and federal level. NFIB really is the voice of small business, and I look forward to serving our members across Ohio in this role,” said Chris Ellis, Leadership Council Chairman.

“Representing 22,000 small business owners in Ohio, NFIB serves as the voice of Ohio’s entrepreneurs. This group of officers directing the Ohio Leadership Council understand the important role they play in helping NFIB advance the cause of Ohio’s small business community in their ability to own, operate, and grow their businesses,” said Vice President/Executive Director of NFIB in Ohio Roger Geiger. “NFIB has always been a member-driven association. We rely on the involvement of our members to offer their knowledge and guidance to allow us to advocate on issues such as workforce development, unemployment compensation reform, workers’ compensation, and taxes at the Ohio Statehouse.”
