Merrin Endorsed by Small Business for Ohio House Seat

Date: August 02, 2016

The National Federation of
Independent Business/Ohio (NFIB/Ohio), the state’s leading small business
association
representing 25,000 entrepreneurs, is proud to announce its endorsement of Derek Merrin, who is seeking election to Ohio’s 47th
House District seat. The district is home to 251 dues paying members of
NFIB/Ohio. This endorsement today comes from the NFIB/Ohio SAFE Trust, the
organization’s political action committee.

Merrin is a small-business owner,
and his shared perspective with Ohio’s entrepreneurs allows him to understand
the issues advocated for and against by NFIB/Ohio.
He knows that it is not the government
that creates jobs, but the entrepreneurs in Ohio, and is an advocate for cutting
taxes and lowering the cost of doing business in the state. Those ideas are embraced
by the membership as shown by the results of NFIB/Ohio’s surveying of
small-business owners throughout Ohio.

“Derek Merrin has been approved through NFIB/Ohio’s member-driven
process that thoroughly reviews candidates’ records, stated positions and
understanding of small-business issues before an endorsement is issued,” said Roger R. Geiger, vice
president and executive director of NFIB/Ohio. “With his small business
background, he will help to make Ohio an even better place for entrepreneurs to
own, operate and grow their businesses. We look forward to working with him when
he is elected this November.”

“It’s an honor to have the support of Ohio’s job
creators and entrepreneurs through NFIB. I’m ready to fight to make Ohio’s
business climate the best in the nation. It is critical our small businesses
are able to thrive and create well-paying jobs, and I’ll stand with them to
oppose punitive taxes and harmful regulations,” said Merrin.
