NFIB urges state to consider tax reform to spur economic growth

RICHMOND (August 17, 2018) – NFIB, the leading small business association in the country with thousands of members in Virginia, reacted today to Governor Ralph Northam’s comments regarding the state budget to committee members of the Virginia legislature. The following quote may be attributed to NFIB’s Virginia State Director, Nicole Riley:

“Virginia small business owners are experiencing unprecedented economic growth as a result of the federal tax cuts. I’ve heard many stories of small businesses giving employees bonuses, pay raises, hiring new workers and investing in their business. Why wouldn’t we want to see that positive impact on the state level?  We hope Gov. Northam and the General Assembly will give serious consideration to tax reform that will help Virginia’s job creators, promote long-term economic growth, and keep Virginia competitive with other states that are cutting taxes.”
