Small Business Candidates Poised to Take Control of Virginia House of Delegates

Date: November 04, 2021

Pro Small Business Candidates Dominate Election Day

The power for the House of Delegates was up for grabs in this year’s election with all 100 seats on the ballot.  So far, the numbers indicate that the House has flipped to a razor thin Republican lead.

Heading into November 2, Democrats held a 55 to 45 majority in the House of Delegates. From the election results that are in so far, Republicans picked up 7 seats, flipping the House to a 52-48 Republican held Majority. The House Democrats have not conceded in two of those races, however, as the results in Hampton Roads are less than 300 votes.

The NFIB Virginia PAC endorsed pro-small business candidates in 52 House races.  Of those 52 endorsements, 45 won their campaigns. Another way to look at it is this: 87% of NFIB VA PAC endorsed candidates won their races.   Below you will find a list of the winners in the House of Delegates races, but for more information about each individual race you can click here.

It is important to note that there are a few races that are still extremely tight and may be subject to a recount. NIFB, of course, will keep you up to date as we continue to follow these races.

The NFIB Virginia PAC heavily invested in 6 targeted House Races with digital ads. Five of the 6 candidates won their races. Four of those races are pick ups for the House Republicans.
