NFIB State Director Nicole Riley says Governor Northam’s proposed tax plan would be bad news for Virginia’s small businesses.
“You usually don’t wait until Friday afternoon in the middle of summer to announce a tax bill unless you’re hoping people will ignore it. If that’s the case here, then I can’t blame the governor. This legislation would be a disaster.
“The governor’s plan would lead to a big increase in taxes for small businesses and working families.
“Our members want to see Governor Northam and the General Assembly take a thoughtful and broad-based approach to tax reform to ensure that as many taxpayers as possible benefit from the federal tax cuts. When you raise taxes on small businesses, you make it harder for them to grow and create jobs, and that would hurt all Virginians.”
