Youngkin, Miyares and Sears Promise to Represent Small Business if Elected
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the state’s largest business association organization, recently hosted lieutenant governor, attorney general and gubernatorial candidates Winsome Sears, Jason Miyares and Glenn Youngkin in two separate virtual events. Both Sears and Miyares were recently endorsed by small business owners, as was Glenn Youngkin by the NFIB Virginia PAC.
The virtual meet and greet was an opportunity for small business owners to hear both Sears’ and Miyares’ vision to make the Commonwealth small business friendly.

“I am committed to making sure that right to work does not go away here in Virginia,” said Winsome Sears, candidate for Lt. Governor. “If that happens, Virginia stands to lose billions of dollars in revenue and thousands of jobs. Virginia’s economy can’t survive without our right to work law and I am committed to making sure it stays on the books.”
As a former small business owner, Ms. Sears understands the daily challenges small business owners face.
“My focus, if elected, is to advocate for the two-thirds of Virginians who create jobs. That is our small business owners. As Attorney General, my role as the highest lawyer in the Commonwealth would also be to focus on the regulatory burden that is hampering our small businesses across the state. One big goal of mine is to make sure that the red tape that is holding back small business owners is removed,” said Jason Miyares, candidate for Attorney General.
Mr. Miyares knows small business well. His wife is a 3rd generation small business owner.
“Virginia is fortunate to have a slate of small business friendly candidates on the ballot this fall. Jason Miyares and Winsome Sears will work hard for our members to enact policies that will help our entrepreneurs thrive,” said Nicole Riley, NFIB State Director in Virginia. “Virginia’s recently enacted policies have been bad for small business owners, many who are still struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. If we don’t elect small business friendly candidates next month, our economy, already in trouble, will be further on the brink of disaster.”
In an earlier virtual event, Mr. Youngkin expressed his commitment to enacting tax relief for small businesses, reducing regulatory burdens, and strengthening Virginia’s business climate. His vision for fewer government mandates and lower taxes makes him the clear choice for Governor, according to NFIB small business owners.
“It was an honor and privilege to meet with small business leaders who are creating jobs and keeping Virginia’s economy running during this very difficult economic time,” said Glenn Youngkin. “Virginia’s economy can’t survive without its small business owners. To understand what’s best for Virginia moving forward, the next governor needs to understand and have the support of one of its most important sectors: small business. I am encouraged that NFIB small business owners support my Day One Game Plan, which will create an additional 400,000 jobs and 10,000 startups – more small businesses that can launch our state’s economy out of this devastating pandemic.”
