We are in week five of the first session of the 84th West Virginia Legislature and are officially in the second half of the session.
On Monday, Feb. 5, the Senate passed Senate Bill 451, an omnibus education bill, with a razor-thin 18-16 majority. The House has sent the bill for consideration by the Education and Finance Committees, overcoming a procedural motion to essentially kill the bill in the process. This bill has and will continue to occupy most of the Legislature’s time and energy.
