Industry Specific Guidance for Reopening in Rhode Island

Mandated rules for June 1 reopenings

A reminder to Rhode Island small businesses, Governor Gina Raimondo announced Phase 2 of the state’s reopenings begin on Monday, June 1. Please note, those opening face restrictions and businesses must comply with the mandated rules.

Phase 2 allows:

  • Social gatherings of up to 15 people.
  • Office-based businesses can allow up to 33% of their workforce to return.
  • Haircare and personal services may reopen.
  • Opening of state parks and beaches.
  • Non-critical retailers can allow greater numbers of customers in the store, malls can reopen.
  • Restaurants can begin indoor dining with 50% capacity.
  • Gyms, fitness studios, and small group fitness can reopen with restrictions.
  • Outdoor entertainment and recreation activities may resume.
  • Childcare services to resume.
