PA House State Government Committee to Hold Public Hearings on Redistricting

Date: August 19, 2021

Every ten years, after the U.S. Census is completed, states are responsible for legislative redistricting based on population shifts. In Pennsylvania, the Legislature is charged with drawing the lines for new legislative districts, which the Governor can sign into law or veto.

As part of the redistricting process, the House State Government Committee is holding public hearings and accepting public comments on the drafting of proposed district lines in all regions of the Commonwealth. All Pennsylvanians are encouraged to participate in the public meetings. Making your voice heard during the redistricting process helps ensure neighborhoods, communities, and all citizens are represented fairly.

Sign up is needed in order to provide in-person testimony, but registration is not required to attend. All regional hearings will also be live-streamed at www.paredistricting.com, and recordings of each hearing and the written testimony will be posted to the website For more information or to submit co, visit PA Congressional – Regional Hearing Schedule (paredistricting.com)
