PA Small Biz Resources & Links for COVID-19

Date: March 19, 2020

Need help related to labor, taxes, loans, or employees?

NFIB in PA continues to monitor developments related to COVID-19 in Harrisburg with state agencies and in the legislature. We will continue to update members. But as changes often happen quickly, there are several resources that are helpful to small business owners who wish to track activities, find information, or ask questions specific to business needs. Please keep in mind the following resources over the coming weeks.

Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is a great first-line resource to answer questions from businesses. DCED’s business resource page includes information about essential/non-essential businesses, small business loan programs, and links to other state and local resources.

DCED’s business resource website: https://dced.pa.gov/resources/

DCED’s customer resource center is taking calls, but prefers emails: (866) 466-3972 or [email protected]

Department of Labor and Industry (L&I) has all necessary information on unemployment compensation and workers’ compensation as well as FAQs for employers here: https://www.uc.pa.gov/COVID-19/Pages/default.aspx.

Information for affected employees, including who is eligible for unemployment and workers compensation as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, is found here: https://www.uc.pa.gov/Pages/covid19.aspx

Department of Revenue has information posted on their website about the extension of some tax deadlines: https://www.revenue.pa.gov/Pages/AlertDetails.aspx. Note that not all tax deadlines in the state have been extended. Please check with the Department of Revenue on specific taxes.

The Department of Revenue’s call center is currently closed, but their online customer service center is open. Please see: https://revenue-pa.custhelp.com. Here you can submit a question in writing or keyword search for a previously answered question.

Small Business Administration (SBA) This federal agency is maintaining a website with information helpful to small businesses: https://www.sba.gov/page/coronavirus-covid-19-small-business-guidance-loan-resources. When the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan program becomes available in Pennsylvania, you will be able to access the application from this website. Information on this loan is available here: https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance.

NFIB’s Coronavirus Resource page, which has information on webinars, legal resources, and updates on Congressional action: https://www.nfib.com/content/analysis/coronavirus/latest-on-coronavirus-from-nfib/. NFIB in PA will continue to update members on events in Pennsylvania: https://www.nfib.com/pa.
