PA Pollution Prevention Low-Cost Loans

Date: February 25, 2018

For PA small businesses that reduce waste, pollution or energy use

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection asked that we share the following information with our members about a program offering low-cost loans for Pollution Prevention:

The Small Business Pollution Prevention Assistance Account (PPAA) Loan Program provides low-interest loans to small businesses undertaking projects (located within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) that reduce waste, pollution or energy use. Loans will be used to fund 75 percent of the total eligible project cost.

The maximum loan amount is $100,000 within any 12-month period. Small businesses with 100 or fewer full-time employees are eligible. The interest rate for the loan will be 2% and remain fixed for the duration of the repayment term. Maximum loan term is 10 years. This funding can help small businesses comply with environmental regulations while receiving the economic benefits of preventing pollution and using energy more efficiently.
