The NFIB North Carolina office hosted a virtual visit today with Sen. Thom Tillis as part of NFIB’s first Virtual Fly-In.
Ordinarily, NFIB members gather in Washington, D.C., each summer to learn more about the issues affecting America’s small businesses and to visit lawmakers and their staffs on Capitol Hill, but because of concerns over the novel coronavirus, this year’s event was held online.
NFIB State Director Gregg Thompson said, “The virtual fly-in gave our members a chance to connect with their members of Congress and speak out about the issues affecting them and their businesses despite the coronavirus.”
Tillis said, “The NFIB plays a crucial role to ensure North Carolina’s small businesses have their voices heard, particularly as COVID-19 has affected so many business owners across the state.
“I want to thank them for inviting me to give a legislative update from Washington, and I will continue to work to provide the necessary relief so North Carolina small businesses can get through this crisis.”
